Will Jerry split ‘Eastwick’s’ coven?

One of my favorite fall discoveries has been ABC’s “Eastwick.” It’s totally camp-tastic fun and a must watch for anyone who loved “Charmed.” The show’s biggest boon has been the casting of Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman — they ground these incredibly unrealistic situations (telepathy, telekinesis, control over the elements) and have me believing that witches are among us.

In a few weeks, Rebecca’s real-life husband Jerry O’ Connell will be dropping by the not-so-sleepy burg of Eastwick and stirring up trouble for one of the theoretical cauldron chicks — Kat. “He is a good man hiding a horrible secret. He’s a single father, a widow, with a young son who is a part of this secret,” executive producer Maggie Friedman told TV Guide.

Although things look to still be on solid ground in this first look at Jamie and Jerry starting filming today, Maggie teases that the Earth will begin rumbling soon! “Kat will be drawn to him, and she will be put in danger as a result.”

‘Eastwick’ exclusive: Jerry O’Connell drops in on wife Rebecca Romijn

Is there anything more magical than a casting scoop that breaks the proverbial fourth wall? I think not.

Case in point: Sources confirm to me exclusively that Jerry O’Connell has booked a multi-episode arc opposite his real-life wife, Rebecca Romijn, on ABC’s increasingly addictive drama Eastwick.

O’Connell, who will appear in the final two episodes of Eastwick’s initial 13-episode order, will play Colin, a hot new neighbor of Kat’s (Jaime Ray Newman) who is hiding a dark and magical secret.

This isn’t the first time the happy couple drove to work together. Actually, it’s the third. Two years ago, Romijn guest-starred on O’Connell’s short-lived ABC comedy Carpoolers. And prior to that, O’Connell made a cameo opposite his then-fiance on Ugly Betty.

Rebecca Romijn: “We’re Not Interested in Overpopulating This World!”

Rebecca Romijn and Jerry O’Connell have no intention of becoming the next Brangelina.

The two have already decided that their 8-month-old twins, Dolly and Charlie, are enough kids for them.

“I’m pretty sure that this is it,” Romijn told me yesterday. “We feel like the world was made for pairs. Four feels like the perfect number.”

“Also, we’re not interested in overpopulating this world,” she added. “So we feel like we don’t want to leave more than we are when we leave this planet.”

Romijn is hard at work on Eastwick, her new ABC drama-fantasy series based on the John Updike novel The Witches of Eastwick. Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jaime Ray Newman star as three small-town women with witchy powers.

Romijn didn’t actually plan on working after giving birth. “I had put it out there that I just wanted to be a mom for six months and not even think about work at all. I told the powers that be if anything came across their desks that I’d be devastated if I missed out on it, to make sure that I knew about it. And [Eastwick] is the only thing I read.”

She was still nursing when they shot the pilot. O’Connell now brings the little ones to set to visit mom at work.

“Mother’s guilt is no joke,” Romijn admits. “I feel like any stretch of time I spend away from them, I’m worried that I’m missing out on just these little miracles. Like you watch them stare at their hand for an hour and they go take a three-hour nap and they wake up and they can do something that they didn’t do before—like wave!”

Baby worries aside, Romijn says she couldn’t be happier about her decision to sign on to Eastwick. “Getting to work with Jaime and Lindsay is just the best,” she gushes. “I defy anyone to come up with any diva bitch stories from our set. It’ll never happen.”

Rebecca Romijn Excited For Eastwick Role

Rebecca Romijn was so excited at the prospect of reprising the role made famous by Cher in The Witches of Eastwick that she called everyone she knew to tell them.

Rebecca was more proud of the fact she would be filling Cher’s shoes in Eastwick, the television adaption of the 1987 feature film, than she was at landing the lucrative TV role.

“I have huge shoes to fill,” said the Ugly Betty star. “But honestly, getting to say that I play Cher — I feel like that is bragging rights right there. It’s more exciting to say I play Cher than to say I play a witch — which was already really exciting to say!”

Romijn recently revealed she felt pressure to lose weight following the birth of her twin daughters Dolly Rebecca Rose and Charlie Tamara Tulip.

“The pressure to lose weight definitely comes from the business,” she said. “But I have a way more important job at home with the babies. It’s not something I ever worried about.

“The weight that I gained felt very natural, losing it was very natural. And I still have some way to go. Hopefully I will lose the rest too – but those last 10lbs, man oh man!”

The Witches are Back in ‘Eastwick’!

When “Eastwick” hits the small screen this fall on ABC, it will be with a wink and a nod to both the John Updike book and the movie version of ‘The Witches of Eastwick,’ which starred Cher, Susan Sarandon and Michelle Pfeiffer.

Now Rebecca Romijn, Lindsay Price and Jamie Ray Newman, respectively, take on the roles of three women who are discovering who they are as they come into their magical powers — and they talk to Kevin Frazier about this new magical mystery tour.

“I feel like I can brag when I get to say I’m playing a witch, but I get to brag even more when I get to say I’m playing Cher,” Romijn tells ET.

The first season is also about temptation with Darryl (Paul Gross), the role played by Jack Nicholson in the film, coming into town and seducing the women. So will the series be as sexy as the big-screen version?

“I certainly hope so,” Romijn says. “Yeah, we’re going to push it.”

Luckily, the series is on in a 10 p.m. timeslot, so it will get to be a bit more PG-13 than if it were on earlier, but it still needs to keep within broadcast standards.

That said, Newman reveals, “In episode two, I am in the pool naked!”

Magic powers are something these women wouldn’t mind possessing in real life, as well, and, funnily enough, all three women say they would like to have the same power: teleportation.

But when Frazier asks Romjin what would she make the man in her life [Jerry O'Connell] do if she really had power, she says, “Close drawers behind him.”
